The 4th of June 2010 marked the last “Football Friday” for South Africans before the kick off to the FIFA World Cup 2010™ event starting in a week’s time on 11 June 2010. A remarkable event that’s taking place for the 1^st time on African soul and on our very own door step.

 

“Football Fridays” became renowned in South Africa as a day where everyone could wear casual and informal attire to work with the intention to get South Africans in the World Cup fever. But this was not just any casual and informal attire, but as the name states, FOOTBALL attire. These Fridays started off with people dressed in all kinds of their favourite sports team’s jerseys and shirts, such as Rugby, Cricket and even international Football league jerseys or shirts. Slowly and yet rapidly as “D” day crept closer, Fridays turned into a day of wearing only BAFANA BAFANA™ Gold and Green shirts and jerseys. “Football Fridays” became a frenzy of excitement and spirit and not only for the reason of it being a Friday which marked the beginning of the weekend, but that it was FOOTBALL Friday and people can wear their Green and Gold in Pride.

 

Every staff member from Shereno was given a  custom manufactured and one of a kind Green and Gold long sleeve shirt. Shirts unique to only the Shereno Printers staff members. This emphasized Shereno’s commitment in being a Proudly South African™ member by letting the staff wear the Green and Gold with pride. On the last “Football Friday”, these shirts were worn by every single staff member to not only celebrate this spectacular day but also to make this a memorable day in South Africa and Shereno’s history.

 

 

An amazing spirit and vibe was carried by everyone and it could be seen on staff’s faces that they were Proudly South African and Proud to be part of the Shereno team. The day started off with; general dance practices, to several traditional dance favourites like the “DISKI” Dance being done synchronised and even a custom choreographed dance move created just for Shereno Printers. The day ended off with staff relaxing and enjoying a meal and a few drinks.

 

While all the celebrations were taking place, photos were taken and video shoots were done. With the many movie clips taken, a brilliant ensemble movie was compiled of Shereno Printers last “Football Friday” before the FIFA World Cup 2010™ event kicks off and a copy was sent to SABC’s Morning Live show. So keep your eyes peeled, we might just make a surprise appearance on National TV.
